nothing against Islamic clothing, but, medical research shows that it leads to higher incidence of osteoporosis?

fluevog asked:

women, especially ,do need their bodies to receive a critical amount of sun rays,as this is very important to assimilation of vitamin D to the bones, and reduces the risk of osteoporosis .(especially later in life)

wearing all the time clothing that cover the skin,so much, will unfortunately contribute to very high rates of the weakening of the bones, with all the negative consequences stemming from this condition

Osteoporosis…….?

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010
osteoporosis
Divine Oubliette asked:

I have been told by my docs and previous midwife that my bone density is so low (severe osteoporosis from prolonged synthetic birth control use) that sustaining another pregnancy would put too much of a strain on my body. So I am on shots to help boost my calcium levels and bone density and have an IUD but if that IUD fails I would be faced with another abortion because my body (so says my doctor and midwife) cannot handle another pregnancy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteoporosis

There are tons of valid reason for an abortion, so why am I being judged?

Is it so wrong that my husband and I are choosing to protect my life?

People have told me that what I am doing is premeditated murder, knowing that I would get an abortion if I were to get pregnant (despite an IUD - 99% effective). This is not murder, this is protecting my body from harm. Maybe other women would choose to keep the pregnancy and accept the harm to their body, I am unwilling to. My husband feels the same way, he is not willing to risk my health for another baby.

So what gives?
Thanks eVentus and Flick - I just can’t stand being called a murderer when I am protecting my own life.
A previous pregnancy of mine was ectopic, so I have had the medically necessary abortion that’s one reason I have the opinion that I do.
Also I feel it would be irresponsible to leave my husband with children I know he cannot take care of by himself.

My grandmother has osteoporosis, will I develop it?

Friday, December 17th, 2010
osteoporosis
iamjoesmamma asked:

My grandmother was diagnosed with osteoporosis a few years ago. She is now 72 and has been very healthy her whole life. She grew up on a farm and has always been very active and even eats healthy. Somehow she developed it. My mother, who is 51 has not shown signs of it. I was told that it runs in families. Does this mean that I will develop it? I am 26 and have had health issues. I have mild asthma, hypothyroidism, and crohn’s disease.
