Which type of rose-hip is best for osteoporosis?

Sunday, November 28th, 2010
osteoporosis
BONNY M asked:

My mum was told it would help her but was also told there are different types/forms. Which one should we be looking to buy and will it help her. She is often in a lot of pain and would love something that actually works. She is also a diabetic on insulin and would the rosehip affect that.
Thanks

BodyEssence asked:

Resistance training is extremely valuable in the battle against osteoporosis. Walking for most people is just a simple form of locomotion! Quite frankly, the intensity is just too low to effectively strengthen the bones. John Paul Catanzaro, a Certified Kinesiologist and Professional Fitness & Lifestyle Consultant, reveals a great functional exercise for this condition. I have osteoporosis and my doctor says it’s no big deal?

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

hannabanana asked:

My doctor confirmed that I have osteoporosis and I am only 13 years old. He said that it’s okay, but swim a lot, and exercise a lot.
But, the thing is that I can’t swim, and I don’t even know how I got osteoporosis? & Why did he say that it’s no big deal? Will it be worse when I grow up? Should I be worried about this? Please, I’m confused. If my doctor says it’s no big deal, should I not be worried as well?

What is the name of the dance that the people do in that osteoporosis commercial by the arthritis foundation?

hellfurytheclever asked:

When the commercial comes on, some funky music starts playing and it cuts away to different people doing this funky looking dance with a lot of swaying, contorting, and such, almost like a fast paced robot, for lack of a better way to describe it. Anyways, I want to know what it is because I’m determined to learn it. Thanks.

Part 1 - Understanding Osteoporosis Through a Radically Different Perspective

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010
greenmedinfo asked:

In this lecture Sayer Ji, founder of www.GreenMedinfo.com deconstructs predominant conventional health myths regarding bone health. The 1 hour long lecture discusess: 1) why calcium supplements may weaken the bone 2) why having higher bone density may increase the risk of breast cancer 3) why pharmaceutical intervention is intrinsically flawed and not as logical as using natural substances. 4) how Medline data is vindicating the efficacy of natural substances in the prevention and treatment of bone density. 5) Why “osteopenia” and “osteoporosis” take on a less ominous light when one better understand the inherent problems associated with using the T-score from DEXA scans.

Serotonin May Hold Key to Halting Osteoporosis

Monday, November 8th, 2010
NatureVideoChannel asked:

A drug that reverses osteoporosis in mice looks like a promising candidate for treating the human version of the disease. Gerard Karsenty and his colleagues at Columbia University Medical Center have shown that blocking the neurotransmitter serotonin–secreted from the gut–promotes bone growth. The research appears on-line at www.nature.com/naturemedicine - Yadav et al. Nature Medicine, 7 February 2010. DOI: 10.1038/nm.2098
